The Potter’s Clay

Isaiah 64:8 says, “But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.”

When I decided to consider what my future is likely to hold, I realized that much of my past was driven only in part by the choices that I made and that other forces had worked within that life to form what has now become familiar to me. As my family ages, my career interests shift and my soul reflects ever more upon those things that I did not control and how greatly they shaped me, I wanted to find a name that gave life to a next chapter(s). I explored many symbols and thoughts, but one hit me the hardest – Isaiah was right when we said that we are clay in the hands of God.

This post is the seed of that realization, the start of new, the passing of the old and a newfound acceptance that we are all clay in the Potter’s hands.
